Review: Fresh Soy Face Cleanser

As promised… (sorry it’s a little late)

Ahh yes! I’ve been using this cleanser with my clairisonic and my skin has REALLY improved. I actually have super dry skin with breakouts on my chin (hormonal) and this has helped a TON. I do think it’s expensive but it does seem to last quite a while.

I still keep this on my shower shelf (which has very minimal room, so you know it’s important) for days when my skin is freaking out or just feels overworked. I really do love it if that wasn’t apparent in the video. And yeah, you really don’t need that much, but $38 is still too much for me to use this as my regular cleanser (plus it didn’t seem to affect my acne, either way, at all…)

What is the other cleanser you use?

Right now I’m loving the CeraVe Foaming Cleanser. It has the oddest smell (I’ve actually grown to like it), but it does amazing stuff for me. Was your question also a semi-probe for a review on it…? 😉

ha ha, just saw this! yes, i guess. I like to stay loyal to products and so far so good. But I am unsure if I should stick to the creamy cleanser of the same stuff. No visible irritation thus far. But i am pushing the exfoliation limits here with my fair skin. IF you get a chance to try, just lemme know what ya think;)

Thanks for all the great posts, Indigo! I finally found a product worth boasting about! I haven’t tried the Fresh Soy Face cleanser but I DID recently try the Neutrogena® Naturals Purifying Cleanser. Luv Luv Luv this stuff. It gently cleansed my face and helped reduce my pores without that over-drying feel. I really don’t even need to use a toner afterwards. This stuff is great and the price is not too shabby at 6.99. Let me know what you think!
You seem like you are definitely in-the-know;)”

Sam. Great Review. I also have the redness/tightness part, so I might pick this up! Again, good review: concise, and thorough especially on the makeup removing part. Do you feel like it would be effective without a clarisonic? I haven’t picked one up yet(I admit.. I’m relectant to spend the money, but really I just don’t need ANOTHER beauty gadget 😀 )

Hey Indigo, I know you’re busy. So you dance? Cool.
Have you tried that Neutrogena Natural Facial Cleanser? I’m still using it with good results. But I’m curious how it worked for you. I’m gonna keep using it daily. I still do my weekly glycolics. My face is normally sentive but now it just sems super clear with no visible irritation. i have to use a good sunscreen.
Please let me know when you can!! Love your posts;)
    Thanks! Sarah

Hey! Sorry I hadn’t answered you yet. I’ve completely stopped even testing Neutrogena cleansers, because for some reason, every single one I’ve ever used has left my face feeling stripped and raw after a few days, and exacerbated my dermatitis. I’ve finally gotten most of my skin woes under wraps, so I’m rather wary to return to a brand that has given me nothing but trouble in the past. And because I often test skincare products for two to four weeks before calling final judgement on them, I’m often outside the return-by date if they don’t work, so… Loss of money, there.

But if it works for you, totally keep using it! Does it sound comparable to the Fresh one?

Hey! I need to check out Fresh. My HBA selection is nill around these parts. But i have fair skin and have noticed a hint of roseacea flare-ups if i’m not careful, so like you , i too am picky. I like the neutrogena’s new natural line. this cleanser stuff contains willowbark. This gives a gentle exfoliation effect without stripping my skin of natural oils. I follow up with a moisturizer and wake up with clear skin that feels great. But if i get crazy with a bunch of other products, then the salicylic acid in willow bark can be skewed off balance.

My next try is the cheek stain that you recently reviewed. I need oil-free tinted moisturizer too. Any ideas?

I’ve never tried the fresh cleanser, but it sounds a lot like my favourite, ADE Creamy Cleanser by Earth Science. It’s similar but a lot cheaper ($10 for 8 Oz). You can find it at Whole Foods-type places or http://www.shopearthscience.com/pd_ade_creamy_cleanser_9.cfm.

It’s creamy and really gentle. I find that it cleanses my skin without stripping it and without leaving a film. It’s also a good makeup remover for non-waterproof stuff. I really love this cleanser! I have rosacea, and it’s the only one I’ve found that doesn’t irritate my skin. My skin actually calms down when I use it!

Anyways, just thought you would like to know since the price seemed to be the major deterrant for you on the Fresh Cleanser.
